What is In-Chair Teeth Whitening?

Teeth whitening is the most effective way to lift stains on your teeth for a whiter smile. We offer the latest advancements in teeth whitening treatments, these treatments can be delivered via one of two methods:

  • In-Chair Teeth Whitening &
  • Take-Home Teeth Whitening

Some people prefer to use both treatments as results from in-chair whitening can be further boosted with the use of a home whitening kit.

Plus, no matter which treatment you use to get the smile of your dreams – we offer flexible payment options so you can get the smile you want today and pay for it later.

How does In-Chair Teeth Whitening Work?

By booking in for your professional in-chair teeth whitening session, we can brighten up your smile in as little as 1 hour. Our in-chair treatment option is a great option for those who would like a whiter smile as soon as possible.

During your in-chair whitening session, your Dentist will apply a whitening gel that lifts deep seated stains in your tooth enamel without damaging your teeth or gums. The sessions can range

Our dentists will work with you to tailor the best in-chair treatment solution for you using only the latest advancements. Regardless of the in-chair whitening system you receive, all our practices use only approved, safe and effective treatment systems. We will let you know what kind of results to expect prior to your treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Teeth Whitening Safe?

As an accredited practice we only offer solutions that are approved for use by the Australian Dental Association. We care about your dental health and will carefully check your teeth and gums prior to any whitening treatment to ensure it is the best option for you. Teeth whitening can cause some initial sensitivity, and on rare occasions a tingling sensation in your teeth. If your teeth are already quite sensitive, then we can use a lower strength whitening gel so you can whiten your teeth at a more comfortable and slower pace. During your check-up, we can also assess the kind of results you can expect to achieve prior to commencing treatment.

It is important to know that teeth whitening treatments will not change the colour of any crowns, bridges, veneers, teeth with internal stains or teeth which have darkened due to root canal treatment. There is no need to worry if this is the case for you, as there are plenty of other options that we can use to create a uniformly white and healthy smile for you.

What about off-the-shelf whitening products?

Whitening your teeth with off the shelf products is not the same as getting your teeth whitened with a licensed dentist. Prior to commencing whitening treatment, the ADA (Australian Dental Association) strongly recommends a consultation with your dentist to ensure that it’s right for you.

Off-the-shelf whitening products are currently unregulated. Due to this, many of these products contain dangerously high concentrations of hydrogen or carbamide peroxide leading to higher injury reports of damaged enamel, soft tissue burns and pain.

Unlike a professional whitening kit, many off-the-shelf products do not have customised mouth trays for gel application. This has led to an increase of reports of pain, soft tissue burns and damaged enamel. When whitening is done correctly patients should not experience pain.

At 1300SMILES you can relax knowing that any treatment offered in our practice is safe, effective, and proven.

How Long Will Teeth Whitening Last?

This all depends on the reasons why your teeth became discoloured, and on your lifestyle choices but the results may last for up to two years before you need another treatment. We will give you plenty of advice on how to maintain the results for longer. Avoiding highly coloured foods, quitting smoking, and having a good oral hygiene routine will all help your teeth remain whiter for longer.
